Established in 1981 by Sheikh Ahmed Bagedo and Dr. Mohammed Erfan, Dr. Erfan and Bagedo General Hospital has grown to be recognized as one of the largest and most respected hospitals in Jeddah and the Western region of Saudi Arabia. Our journey began with psychiatric and neurological care and through 42 years of experience and achievement, we have expanded to provide comprehensive medical services to world-class standards.

A History of Caring
Dr. Erfan & Bagedo General Hospital was established in 1981
by Sheikh Ahmed Bagedo and Dr. Mohammed Erfan, originally
serving as a Psychiatry and Neurology clinical centre.
EBGH took its first step toward broader care by adding
specialties such as Internal Medicine, General Surgery,
Paediatrics and Gynaecology.
We expanded our facilities and achieved a significant breakthrough by
performing our first open heart surgery.
The hospital provided medical care to the White House staff during the Gulf
visit led by then U.S. President George Bush.
Services expanded further with Gastroenterology & Endoscopy,
as well as Rheumatology and Rehabilitation. A third building
was also added as an auxiliary facility.
The hospital added an external parking building and expanded
its administrative offices to better serve patients and operations.
EBGH earned its first Makkah Accreditation in 2005, in line with the National
Accreditation Standards for Hospitals.
The hospital increased capacity by developing inpatient
ICU and Telemetry beds, and expanded outpatient services with
clinics including Dental, Orthopaedics, and ENT.
The hospital earned its first CBAHI accreditation, reflecting
compliance with national healthcare quality standards.
BEVORA (Bagedo Erfan Evolution to the New Era) supported the
establishment of the Hospital Information System and a COVID-19 centre.
In the same year, 4,700 patients were tested, and 35% of cases were treated.
To celebrate its 40-year anniversary in 2021, the hospital delivered
40 improvement projects, reaffirming its commitment to community care.
